      <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">There are currently four LEED-Certified buildings in Erie County—three PNC Bank branch offices and the Tom Ridge Environmental Center. While the trend line is clearly headed in the right direction, Erie’s numbers are significantly less than other regions in the Commonwealth. That said, there are currently eight projects underway for LEED-Certification. They include: Asbury Woods Nature Center, Metzgar Admissions &amp; Alumni Center, Erie Art Museum, Mercyhurst Residence Hall, Mercyhurst College Student Housing, Renaissance/Palace Centre’s, and two confidential projects.</div>

      <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">The recycling effort in Erie County is led by the Erie County Recycling Program, an initiative of County Government. Erie County has experienced both positives and negatives in recent years in regards to recycling and composting. While total recycling dropped approximately 4 percentage points from 2007 to 2008, some of the positive elements include:
