After declining by 10 establishments between 2005 and 2006, the total number of establishments within the arts, entertainment and recreation sector in Erie County increased yearly from 2006 to 2009. Erie County netted approximately three establishments over the entire peroid.
Erie County has substantially less establishments than comparable metropolitan areas throughout Pennsylvania and most of the benchmark regions.
When analyzing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a whole, it experienced a loss of approximately 211 arts, entertainment and recreation establishments between 2005 and 2008 but then gained 110 between 2008 and 2009 for a net loss over the whole period of 101.
