Tracking attendance/participation at arts and cultural organizations provides insight into the vitality of the arts and cultural community in the Erie region. While total attendance (paid and free) declined approximately 6% in 2007, there was an approximate 1% increase in 2008.
When comparing paid attendance versus free attendance over that same time period, free attendance increased more than 8% while paid attendance decreased approximately 8.5%. Although there was a net decrease from 2006-2008 in paid attendance, from 2007 to 2008, it increased just over 1%.

Only arts and cultural organizations that provided data for years 2006, 2007 and 2008 and whose data was verified by the PACDP were included in the above data. Approximately 18 organizations in Erie County met the aforementioned requirements.
