Who we are:
Erie Vital Signs is a collaboration of The Erie Community Foundation, The Nonprofit Partnership, United Way of Erie County, Erie Regional Chamber & Growth Partnership, and Erie Together. Members of these agencies comprise a Steering Committee that provides project oversight to help guide our community’s future for the next decade.
What we do:
Erie Vital Signs tracks indicators that reflect and measure our county’s well-being in eight topic areas: Brain Gain, Community & Civic Engagement, Cultural Vitality, Environment, Health, The Economy, Pre K-12 Education, and Regionalism. The goal of this project is to inform, inspire, and even provoke. This is achieved by presenting sound, unbiased information, with clarity and transparency, on the issues our community identifies as important to our quality of life. Individuals, groups, and organizations in all sectors can use the information to increase their knowledge, to inform decisions, to promote accountability, and to guide action to achieve short- and long-term progress. As future projects incorporate this information, and as project outcomes are designed around indicators and reported here, the results can be monitored and lessons can be learned.
Key Indicator Legend:
A trend that is better or improving
A trend that is negative or needs improvement
A trend that is mixed or inconclusive
What Works:
Each area has a What Works section where you'll find promising pilot projects and best practices that could be adapted to Erie County.
